Working on my KLX
A buddy of mine and I were working on my KLX, trying to get it to start, couldn't get it to fire. It seemed like it had good spark, and it was getting gas. We tried to kick, and push start it. Didn't work. He suggested getting a new plug so I went to the shop to get one, I spoke with a guy that works there, he told me, if I've had gas in there older than like 6 months, to just take the carb off, blow all the jets out with air, then put it together again, so I went back home, without the plug, my bud and I took the carb off and I took it down to an auto repair store, thinking they would have a compressor I could use...wrong, due to insurance reasons, I couldn't use the guys air hose and he couldn't do it either...sounded like bs to me, so I went to an auto shop and picked up some carb cleaner, took it home and squirted the cleaner in all the holes, then bolted it back on, put fresh gas in the tank and.....nothing. So, I went back to the shop...this is like 3hrs later, bought a plug, took it home and screwed it in, bike fired on second kick. Thought I'd share that.
