Those are very good bike's for what they were MENT to do.

I had an 86 (? it was white and blue with a red motor) , anyways, very reliable and would always start, suspension SU(KS and the frame flexs when pushed hard through stuffyou should'nt be doing on a 320lb street/wanta be dirt bike....

GET it!, just dont get to much air with it

All's I'm sayin is "YEA"

Re: honda xl 600r 85\'- ya or na

i picked it up last night. real clean. paid 995$ when you start it it runs fine then after about 5 -10 secs there is a knocking/clicking on the left exhaust valve area. what could this be. it doesn't really increase with revs. could the decrompresion be stickin? it runs ok. blows a little smoke while warming up but not to bad. i am going to tear into it tonight and tomar. i will be really pleased if i can fix it for under 200$ plus front brakes . chain and sprockets. a good cleaning. oil /filter/plug. needs tail light bulb too. there was no surge in power, and it pulled pretty smothly. i was actually surprised how light it felt.

don't worry kyron- no more 80 ft table tops- dammmmmm

at least i can bring the wo-man with me around town

Mine made alot of noise too, but mine had over 20,000 miles on it

If the noise dosnt "folow" the rpm's I'd leave it alone.

Dont EVER sell that bike! They are the perfect 50-50 bike.

i am gonna take the vlave cover off tonight, its at least worth a peak. i'd rather pay 20$ for a valve cover gasket then 600 for a digested valve

my xr80 has a ticking nose from the valves but it always has. i wouldnt worry about it. if u r going to do the valves n springs n stuff u may as well put a piston n rings on it.make sure u replace the valve seals bec if its smoking when warming up its them.
