Re: street legal 400f

A dealer quoted me $1300 for the Baja Designs kits here, but I think that was them doing the installation. (It was for an XR650R too) I think our laws are the headlight has to be on at all times so you'll have to get the lighting coil.

If he could get away with battery powered lights, it'd be way cheaper though.

Thier external lighting coil is $489 USD and is an E-Line I think. They're also claiming you can use the WR stator assembly and it's $430 USD.

Re: street legal 400f

Sounds like a great project. Just read an article about a Husky 610 Supermotard in Cycle World, not exactly the same concept (since that bike isn't street legal), but kind of the same idea, I think. Aside from lighting, are you going to change the gearing, street tires, wheels?

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye.

You might be able to get away doing nothing....
find out how the motor vechical department inspects the bike!!

If I were to buy a new kit, I'd use the E-line kit for sure as there switch gear is WAY nicer!

If your not going to be doing much night riding, you can get away with a mountain bike head light battery.

All's I'm sayin is "YEA"
