Overheats

Ok, it's about 0 degrees out and my engine still overheats. What can I do? I keep putting more and more antifreeze in it but it doesn't want to keep it in. Does the overflow and cap need to be above the radiator or can it be even with it? What else would cause it to do this?

Re: Overheats

the cap shoud be above the overflow i beleive, is the pressure on the cap correct, is the system blocked, is the pump working, is the motor eating the fluid(does it blow grey smoke) bad head gasket, if the trans oil is grey the seal on the impeller is bad.

Re: Overheats

xr80man: I've had it in 90 degree weather before and it's never done it. One radiator is fine.
Since I have to keep filling the radiator, could the cap just lost it's pressure ability to it and keeps pushing fluid out of the system?

Re: Overheats

Also run a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze.... the water removes heat WAY better than the anti freeze....

All's I'm sayin is "YEA"
