12 Volts

Is there a constant 12 volt source on a 89 yz250? Everywire I hit either kills the engine or lights the fuse up and kills the engine. Any kits out there for this year?

Re: 12 Volts

You might be able to put the ign off a WR250 on it... it might be cheaper.

Also I think they might be able to rewire your stator to give it a small amp out-put but enough to give ya some light..

Also look into the mountain bike head lights...

All's I'm sayin is "YEA"

Re: 12 Volts

Do i need a tail light to be legal? Its on a fourwheeler. Would the light be bright enough with the bike light?

Re: 12 Volts

So you have a YZ motor in a 4wheeler??

I've seen a few CR's made street legal with only a mountain bike battery to power the lights...They can power both tail and head lights BUT they WILL NOT last long if the head light is bright

Re: 12 Volts

So your saying there isn't much chance of getting a bright light and keeping it lit. Might have to get some sort of generator or try to get the electrical from a different year sounds like. Would the electrical matter if its just a different year, ie cdi box, ignition, timing?? And yeah I fit a yx250 in a blaster, what's wrong with that?

Re: 12 Volts

Hell no nuthin wrong with it ... except it's still a quad LOL

A good mountain bike head light will last about 3 hours and give enough light to ride with BUT they cost $300

Check with Baja Designs, I know on CR's they can rewire the stator to put out like 30W. Then if you put a small battery you will have enough light. I think its like $125 to rewire a CR stator?

Hey, where'd ya mount the radatiors on your Blaster? Got any good pic's?

Re: 12 Volts

So the battery is charged by the 30 watts? Don't seem like much. As of now there is only one radiator and its right behind the stearing column thing just below the gas tank. And I have alot of overheating problems, or at least I think that is what's doing it, might be some other stuff. Got some pics but no scanner.
