Baja 1000 course

I'm trying to plan the logistics of watching the 1000. Anybody know if they are going to go the full length of the peninsula or two loops of the 500 course? Where would be a good place along the coast to set up camp to watch them (near a pit or check point would be nice). I have checked the score web site and there is no info there yet.

Re: Baja 1000 course

You normally won't see the map until a couple weeks before the race. Maybe around the 26th, just in time for prerunning. I know it's not a penninsula run this time, but I've heard they're doing the big loop to San Felipe rather than two 500's. In either event they're about 90% likely to go through Erindira (probably spelled wrong), which is a great place to watch. In Erindira proper there is a high speed stretch along a bluff, right on the water and Baja Pits is usually set up there. South of town BFG is usually set up and a lot of teams will set up small pits there.

Have fun.

The course map is up at "". It is a loop race this year that starts in Ensenada, goes to San Felipe and then back across the peninsula and back to town. We will provide detailed access info for a couple of good vantage spots. A good place to camp is at Erindera on the Pacific Coast down from Sant Thomas. The bikes will be through at dusk and the cars at night. It's still a good party. See

Watch for Protruck #270. I'll be co-driving. We drew first start in class.

Yup I was there for the drawing, protruck class kicks A$$. I got the map and am planning on the second highway 3 road crossing in the morning and afternoon then going back to Ojos Negros for the return into Ensenada.
Thanks for the links and info.
