2010 SCORE Baja 1000 Trophy Truck Leaders

From La Paz, we just got report of the Trophy Truck leaders through BFGoodrich's Pit 4 at San Ignacio, which is at race mile 542.75. They are technically just past the halfway point of the 1061.69-mile race course:

1. Gustavo Vildosola - 20:31
2. Roger Norman - 20:33
3. BJ Baldwin - 20:38
4. Robby Gordon - 20:41

There's still a long ways to go ...

BJ Baldwin into 2nd

It appears that BJ Baldwin has moved into second place behind leader Vildosola. Norman is still running and in third, while Robby Gordon stills sits in fourth. Vildosola recently passed race mile 585, though Baldwin hasn't gotten there just yet.

Trophy Truck Championship Race

From the tracking data we have, it appears the battle between Jesse Jones (in the #76 truck) and Andy McMillin (#33 truck) for the SCORE Trophy Truck Championship is not as close as most hoped. Jones currently is running near about race mile 520, while McMillin seems to have overcome his earlier mechanical issues and is still up and running but back near race mile 200. If Jones finishes a number of spots ahead of McMillin, the championship is almost certainly his.

Rod Hall Racing Trophy Truck

The Rod Hall Racing Trophy Truck made its debut at the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, and so far the team seems to be doing ok. They were roughly near race mile 410 at last check.

Radio Silence

Well, it's official ... we're having major issues following any of the tracking data for the race. Hopefully it'll be back up shortly. Last we heard was an update that the 1x bike of Kendall Norman and Quinn Cody had an hour lead, and in Trophy Trucks Vildosola still was out in front Baldwin, Norman and Gordon, in that order. Hopefully we'll get more info soon.

Norman Back in 2nd?

We're still trying to confirm, but it sounds as though Roger Norman retook the second-place position from BJ Baldwin. The Vildosola Racing Ford is still out in front.

Updated Trophy Truck Positions

The last tracking data we came across shows Vildosola still out in front of second-place Roger Norman with a 7- to 10-mile lead. Robby Gordon has moved up into the third-place position, though we're not sure of his position specifically on the course. Weyrich is in fourth place physically, Baldwin has fallen back into fifth, and Mark Post is in sixth.

Norman Takes Over Lead

It appears Roger Norman has passed the Vildosola Racing team, which has been leading the race for literally hours. Word is that Vildosola had some engine issues, and it's unclear how major the issue is at present.

Updates will go on hold for a bit, as the lead 1x bike is getting close. Most of us in La Paz are making the half-mile trek to the finish line.

Vildosola Still Leading Trucks at RM 895

With less than 200 miles to go, the Vildosola Racing Team (with Gustavo Vildosola Jr. and Sr. and Rodrigo Ampudia driving) may bring Mexico its first Baja 1000 overall victory. The team still leads Roger Norman by a decent margin, although wild card Robby Gordon is still in the mix (and is tough to pin down due to tracking issues). Our earlier post that Norman overtook the lead may have been incorrect - we were unable to verify and away for a bit when the motorcycle winners came in.
