Locos Mocos To Race San Felipe

After 10 years of helping Baja racers make it to the finish line, the Locos Mocos pit crew ("we fix stuff free") is gonna race Baja.

The first official Team Locos Mocos pit in 1998 serviced any Baja racer who needed help, for free. And nothingís changed. Locos Mocos continues to help everyone and anyone, from a novice bike racer to the best known Trophy Truck driver, using their own tools, on their own dime, flat refusing any compensation.

And now theyíre going to see what itís like to race Baja, not just pit Baja.

Koenig Racing to enter the 2009 SCORE San Felipe 250

With help from sponsors like Redline Synthetic Oil, BajaBound.com Mexican Insurance, Total Chaos Fabrication, ORW, BF Goodrich and Desert People.com, Mike Koenig and Troy Robinson, both long-time Locos Mocos guys, will be entering their Toyota Tacoma race truck in the 2009 SCORE San Felipe 250 coming up March 13, 14 and 15.

Itíll be Koenig Racingís first Baja race, but they arenít new to off road racing. Together Mike and Troy have 12 VORRA (Valley Off Road Racing Association) class championships, including over 35 first place finishes and a podium visit at BITDís Vegas-to-Reno. Whatís more, Mike and Troy are R&D test drivers for Total Chaos suspension systems, a close relationship that has helped the team immensely. With this level of skill and equipment, plus with the help of Locos Mocos, they should do well in San Felipe.

Newest Sponsors

BajaBound.com Mexican Insurance is the teamís most recent sponsor. Since 1999 BajaBound has been the fast, easy, convenient way for racers and race fans to get their Mexican insurance. Visit them at Baja Bound Mexican Insurance Services - Mexico Auto Insurance Online

Redline Synthetic Oil is another new sponsor. Koenig Racing wanted a lineup of Baja-tough lubricants, and they found it in Redline . See more at Red Line Oil.

Any other businesses interested in supporting the Koenig Racing team should contact Tim Price, FlameLab Sports Marketing, 415-505-6445.

Keep up with Koenig Racing at Home Page.

FiberwerX Racing campaigns a 2 Trophy Trucks.

Neither vehicles were prepared to run down in San Felipe. We will have the ready shortly for several select events.

We took down a class 8 that we recently built from the ground up. We could not find the owner, so we just cruised around and supported some other friends and customers.

I was bummed to say the least stoked to be down there.
