Help a newbie

I'm fairly new to off-roading, so forgive my ignorance.

Someone told me that, in off-roading, the (unwritten?) rule on is that if two vehicles are faced with an imminent head on collision, both vehicles should turn to the right?

Is this correct? And, if it is, is this an unwritten rule, or is there a citation somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any help!
