Searching

I'd like to be able to search a forum and not get a million false hits from peoples signatures. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with signiatures but I think they need to be excluded from the search function.

Re: Searching

I'd definitely agree with that. The only problem is that so many people would use it as an excuse to put every mod to their vehicles from chrome lugnuts, to air fresheners, to big block chevy engines in their sigs. Not that people don't do it now... I think perhaps expanding on the profiles, and what you can put in there might help curtail this behavior a bit too.

Re: Searching

I think this could be corrected by forcing people to put sig. information in their sig picture it's self by getting rid of the text ability. Instead of a signature text box in your prifile area you'd see a "picture URL" line. Or if this would hide text from the search function you could make the signature a part of the header (dark grey area) about 1" from your name. Just a thought.........

Re: Searching

I cannot say I ever had problems with false searches due to peoples signatures. Unless the software is changed or people eliminate the long signatures, I do not think there is anything that can be done.

Re: Searching

Try searching the SWB board. Searching it used to be a real PITA. But thankfully a lot of the guys have cleaned up their sigs.
