Re: Splitting Up The BBS

So would there still be a "Main Page" that shows all the forums (with post counts, new posts, etc).

Would the forums still be cross searchable?

Re: Splitting Up The BBS

Yes, there would be a link to a total index of forums. Searching across all forums would have to be made via the search function in that area otherwise a search in one of the split up forum groups would be centric to that group of foums. For example, check out http://tellico.off-road.com/ubbthrea...eads.php?Cat=2,15 in this area you could only search the two master-categories shown.

Ford

For this group, I think we'd be best served with these categories:

General, FAQ
Early Bronco '66-77
'67-96 F-Series, '78-96 Bronco, E-Series
Ranger, Bronco II, Explorer
'97-current F-series, Expedition, Excursion

Re: Ford

Thanks but, consider that some of ythose changes willr result in the loss of all content in the presetn categories. Unfortunately, I cannot move and blend content from 2 areas into 1.

Re: Ford

honestly, i dont think we would be too bad off with just a single "Ford 4x4" forum because besides the late bronco and trucks forum, the others have hardly any traffic. Many of the questions on the trucks forum are just as easily answered by a bronco owner, so those should really be combined anyway. I cant believe there's no way to do that

Maybe the Late Bronco forum could be renamed to "Ford 4x4" and the others locked but left available for searching?

i am VERY HAPPY to see that we have a new moderator though!

Ford blend

I thought even moderators had the ability to move a post from one forum to another. I know doing it that way would be time-consuming and tedious, but he!! - I'd do it if it meant we'd have our forums organized the way we want them. It seems like the posts from one forum could be moved (from oldest to newest), and then the empty forums could simply be renamed. If the full ones couldn't be renamed, then describing them in their headers would be just about as good.

Re: Splitting Up The BBS: Suzuki -GEO?

It is enevitable.

The Geo chassis will eventually replace the Samurai/413 as the Zuk population dies off. But I don't think it'll be any time in the next 2-3 years! maybe even longer.

So for clarity, might I suggest "Suzuki Offroad"? This way, Zukers and 'Kick/Tracker owners might easily find this excellent source of information when searching on the net.

"Geo" means next to nothing beyond the US borders and any offroading (or "normal") Tracker owner pretty much knows who designed the Geo Tracker... If they don't, perhaps a few hours of viewing the original Voltron series will change their ways.

my 2 cents worth...
