What is the time limit for editing a post?

Any one have any idea? What purpose does a time limit serve?

But now it seems I can't edit a post thats more than a day or so old. So admins, whats the time limit to edit a post?

You can edit posts for up to 6 hours on the new software.

That seems like an awful short amount of time. I prefer the old board in the editing depearment then. I could edit aincient posts.

Ditto,
A lot of times I'll post specs/information off the top of my head.
I state, "if memory serves me", then look the information up in manuals, spec sheets etc, and edit the post accordingly.
I don't have to change posts often, but 6 hours sure doesn't leave me much time if I do need to change something.

A time limit on editing is a bunch of crap, there are times I'll post something and have to run so I don't check my spelling or something until I view it the next time I get around to it, and if you have a time limit on editing, then I can't fix any errors. And bad spelling is a pet pieve of mine.
