Re: San Felipe 250 results

Intersting story.....................

Mike Cafro, Carlsbad, Calif./Danny Prather, Ramona, Calif. (4a) were slated to be the third ATV to start, but arriving late cost them. Per SCORE rules, their start time officially began when they were scheduled to begin the race, but were not allowed to physically start until all other ATVs in their class had started. They managed to by-pass all other ATVs and finished first physically, despite starting behind the whole pack. “Somebody dumped about a quart of water in my gas,” Cafro, who won this race in 2002, informed us. “Yesterday it ran bitchin’ when I took it out. Then I think someone came in to our camp when we were gone because this morning it wouldn’t start so I knew something was wrong. I checked a bunch of things and then thought it might be the gas, and there was all this water in there. I was pumping it out and filling up at this Pemex right at the start, but couldn’t get here in time for my start.”

Re: San Felipe 250 results

That really stinks for Cafro. Makes for some good talk on the messege boards but thats about it. If you factor in the time he was supposed to start and the time he actually started, Cafro won this race by apprx 7 or 8 minutes! How frustrating is that? Whether or not someone sabotaged the gas has yet to be determined. Whatever it was, arrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!! Was the difference between a win and 2nd place.

Re: San Felipe 250 results

Don't know who that is but there was a major quad crash within the first 20 miles. The guy had to be helo'd out. There was a lot of carnage, even before the race started while pre-running. Good job to all the teams that finished. I saw Cafro at the awards presentation on Sunday. He didn't say much except that he was glad that Josh and Cyle won. I would HATE to lose by 5 seconds no matter what the reason.

Anyway, way to go to the Factory Red Bull KTM Team of 9X, Chris Blais, Andy Grider, Quinn Cody! Glad to see someone else win instead of Honda, and fairly! YA-HOOOOOOOOO!!! (oh, and I'm real glad it was my boyfriend's team...YAY)
