whats it take to attract west coast racers ???

last year was our 2nd year at the Maxxis 12 hours of ATV racing in Fort Dodge IA... there was a $30.000.00 pro purse... the race consisted of teams of 1-3 riders, & 1 quad, & the race was 6 hours of Daylight & 6 hours of darkness, & the course included a blend of TT type, MX, & tight woods racing... last year was the 3rd year, ( all of which offered good amatue class prizes & cash awards for the pros... this year they moved the race to Rausch Creek, citing that they weren't getting any west coast racers any way... I had hoped to see the race remain centrally located in the states, ( selfishly, to cut down on my drive time 7 costs... ) what do you guy's think ???

Re: whats it take to attract west coast racers ???

I think most out here are still in the middle of other series in October and can't take the time to make plans for a single event when they are running points in a local series.

Now with it in PA it will be even harder.

John needs to do a West Coast event.

Re: whats it take to attract west coast racers ???

I guess the same remarks could be made about the desert racing, ie BITD and Score, Whiplash etc........We just had 6hrs in Tx and it was a great event from what I have been told. Was the same weekend and the GNCC. Its hard to get the time away from work and family to do this stuff. I just do BITD and I live in TX and I still dont have enough time. The should be an event on the west coast. I dont think that most racers dont want to race the Maxxis series, just not enough days in the month.
