Re: WORCS Goldendale - who is going?

i was there for practice this last weekend & broke my rear brake caliper somehow... it then got into the chain & was chewed up a bit, as was the brake line... i'm now in the process of modifying one to fit.
i should be there this weekend... running vet B & production B. hoepfully the bike holds together

Re: WORCS Goldendale - Podium

Just looked at the results. Great job everybody! Dean, how does it feel to be in the Vet Masters class? Ill be racin in that in the Decatu leg. How was the course? By the lap times it looked pretty long.
Shaun, Phil looked like he did well.

Re: WORCS Goldendale - Podium

looking at the lap times you wouldn't think it's only 7 miles, huh?
friday it rained & completely soaked the track, saturday morning it must have been pretty slick because they ran the small bike classes after the quads. by the time the quads got out on it, it had been chewed up really bad and was rough as all get out... not to mention they'd added a few 'special' grass sections since the previous weekend...
sunday, they changed directions on the track, the rough sections were even rougher, and it was really dusty to boot. the guys that ride there often said it's the roughest they'd seen it.

i'm not so sure about trying to ride both days anymore now, saturday was rough on the body, then i tried to go twice as long on sunday... i can feel it now!
meanwhile, i found a crack in my frame on sunday before the race, rode it anyways, luckily it didn't break. i get to tear it down to have it welded now...

dean, how'd i beat you in the overall saturday?

Re: WORCS Goldendale - Podium

Youre right, 7 miles! Sounds like it was a pretty technical track. I saw some pics on another board and the track looked fun. I know the guys who raced at the Austin leg of the series liked the course and it was about the same length, maybe a little more but not much. Great job for all those who finished....Lets see some pics!

Re: WORCS Goldendale - Podium

It was not pretty. I basically have ridden very little the last couple months. I could tell imediatly. My arms were killing me. Sometimes I get some arm pump in the forearms but my whole arms were pumped. They started loosening up a little on the third lap but not much. The track was rough but that is no excuse.

Guess what I will be doing the next 3 weeks? Riding. ALOT. I will be back in shape again before Terrible's.
