getting started racing in utah

Hi this will be my first year racing and i was planing on racing at the race in st george on march 6 and 7. and I havent ever raced before and dont know what i have to do, I am not sure wether i have to pre enter for the race or enter when i get down there. and also do i have to have a tether cord kill switch. and what kind of safety equip do i have to have( helmet, gloves, boots, nerf bars, ect.) any help form anyone would be very helpfull. thankx. and also is there any one that know if the track in delta is open for practice yet? thanx

if the race in st. george is a usra. which i also race they don't require anything but a helmet. unless it has changed. their web is www.dirt-results.com
they will have a link to bunker hill (delta) on their site. where are you from i could point you to a good track. or race.
you can register the day of for races but sometimes there are benifits to registering by mail. like cheaper rates better starting position. free shirt. [img]images/graemlins/scs.gif[/img]

I am from riverton utah and the race in st george on the schedule only says that is a stgmx points race. also how do i get a number do i have to register somewhere for a number to put on my bike? the first race i want to do is st george in first of march, and i also would like to practice in delta but cant get a hold of anyone to see if they are open for practice yet. thanx for your help. any more info anyone could give me would be helpful. i am gooing to race a yamaha yfz450 with a big gun pipe k&n filter and jet kit. what class would i run in, is there a good bigginer class. i mostly have ridden in sand and have really no dirt experience.

Looks like a fun series. I was just on their website posted above and seems like most of the information is there. Send them an email and I am sure they could give you the nitty gritty details. Here is a link to contact them I found on the site.

i live in southjordan and race desert.you will need a teather kill switch to race.go to dirt-results.com you can get your sign up sheet there.

so for the race in mequite on march 6,7 how do i have to register? and also how do i get a race number, i have my number plates and just need a number now.

hi there,contact dana at dirt-results.com she will give you a number if you plan on racing usra.series here in ut.you must be a member of the usra to get points. southjordan racer.
