That would all depend on what type of racing you were going to do, and who is a better rider .If both quads are stock , in a drag race on sand , or a race down the street for top speed , the Banshee should win if both are stock . If it's a motocross track with jumps and a lot of tight turns and stuff , the 400ex should have the advantage if both riders are the same . When they are both stock the Banshee is faster , and the 400ex handles better .

Which ones more obvies to buy?

All i have to say is if you are thinking about motocross then you need a Extremely reliable machine, the banshee is not an reliable machine. the 400EX is the best all around race or play bike, get some hop ups like extended aarms, axle, and a k&N air filter. Buy a yoshimura pipe if possible, if you want to go cheaper on a pipe and still be half way decent, buy a White Brothers. Youe dont need any of those unless you are serious about racing. You need alot of practice and alot of money to race, But the choice between them two are pretty obvious to me. BUY A 400EX. Banshees are two heavy on the front end anyway, The nose tends to dive down. If you really want to smoke your friend just ride hard and fast everyday on a small track of some type. Thats how i started and you wont be dissapointed with your results.
