Re: Need info: Rear shock settings? how, why, what for.

I have a 93 Banshee. I have played around with my rear shock settings. I dont have it perfect, but it is far better than the factory settings.

I have the stock pre load. The compression is zero, the rebound is set pretty high, cant tell you how many clicks off the bottom. I will check someday and write them down. I can tell you it is around 3/4 of maximum rebound dampning. Basically, i like the shock to compress quickly and rebound slowly. Not many people agree with me on that, but ive had it the other way and was uncomfortable with it.

Im 5'11"@194lbs. I ride in the desert\dunes\whoop-de-doos, small 2-3ft jumps in the sand.

Got sand?

Re: Need info: Rear shock settings? how, why, what for.

you want 95mm of sag, put your ride on a crate, box, blocks, something that lets the swing arm out all the way, then measure how far it is from the rear axle to some spot on the frame , as strait up and down as pos. then set the quad down and get on it jump up and down a few times letting the suspention settle, then with you on the seat, measure the same spot as before, you want it to be 95mm of sag

Ride hard, Lifes short
