On the front frame of the quad there is a small silver finned piece with 2 wires into it.Should both wires be hot when kicked over?My quad wont start. Also does anyone have a wiring diagram they could e-mail me?Thank you

I honestly don't knowthe answer to your Qeustion, but I can tell you what helped me,along with this web site.
I bought a clymers manual for my 88 250 x.
It may be that your spark plug is carbon fouled.
sorry I cannot be of much help.
the clymers manual is a complete repair manual,a must have item,For around $30.
Good luck and keep me posted!!

The silver finned thingey you're talking about is a high current zeiner diode with a heat sink. It converts voltage for the lighting system.
