Cost for Blaster

I'm buying a 88' blaster from one of my friends and just wanted to see what you guys think I should offer him. It has a rebuilt yx 250 engine with dg front bump, and grab bar. New bushings and paint. Does 2 grand sound right?

If it has wheels or a skirt,
You can't afford it!

Re: Cost for Blaster

I think thats kinda high for an 88. I'd say 1200-1500 would be more realistic.

Re: Cost for Blaster

The engine is from a YZ 250W 1989. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 1,100 as my starting offer. Also is it possible to get a lighting kit for this engine? I heard that it might not be available for this year bike.

Re: Cost for Blaster

heck, i had a 96 blaster it was mostly stock all i put on it was fmf silencer, uni air filter, and spider trac rear tires and i sold that for $1,000.
so ya i think 2 grand is way to much for that year

If it ain't tight, it ain't right.

Re: Cost for Blaster

Well, it didn't come with a light and I don't see anywhere it could be attached, on the handlebars? I think I'll offer a grand for it. It is in nice shape. Also, where are some good sites/companies to order from for parts/accessories?
