Re: power to weight ?

i dont know about those figures, the raptors only have 28hp and the bombardiers have 37hp? something doesnt sound right about that...and its kinda funny how that is a Cannondale jpg and the Cannondale was the number one quad on there. the weights of the quads seem right though.
based on that chart i would guess a 520 pound Scrambler with 40hp would kick the dog balls off of a raptor and be pretty darn close to a DS650 and we all know that neither of those will happen. heck i wouldnt even put a DS650 above a raptor. so where would a banshee fall on that chart? perhaps in the number one position, or is that why Cannondale forgot to list one of the most popular sport quads there is? i seriously think this is skewed toward making the Cannondale look invinceable, but thats just my opinion. what does everyone else think?

Re: power to weight ?

That's what I am sayin, the Raptor is way scary fast !
But I noticed at the bottom it does say RWHP which is usually at leat in cars around 15% less than crank hp ratings so maybe that's why ???

Re: power to weight ?

yeah but the reported HP from both Yamaha and Bombardier is close to being the same at the crank for the Raptor vs the DS650, so how could the Raptor lose 10 HP from the crank to the rear wheel and the DS650 only lose a single horse? just doesnt make sense to me... I KNOW THAT THE CANNONDALE IS THE MOST POWERFUL AND THE LIGHTEST OF ALL THE QUADS. dirtwheels did a huge shootout on this about a month ago. including ds,banshee, foutrax 400,raptor,cannodale,warrior

Re: power to weight ?

The power to weight ratio on that scrambler is .0769! Surprising to me. That falls between the ratios of the DS650 and the FX400. It's not hard to figure it out, all you do is divide the Horsepower by the weight. This is definately a hosd-job by Cannondale. They are trying to get people to buy their toys by doing stuff like this, what a hoax!

Re: power to weight ?

another thing, if this is true, im guessing my blaster (FMF fatty & powercore silencer, boyesen reeds, and some airbox mods with K&N airfilter) makes around 23-25 horses(just a guess) and yamaha claims it weighs 320 dry, add fludis and its about 330. that gives me a power to weight ratio of .073 this makes me proud to be a blaster owner...
