Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

Just finished reading the Dirt Wheels Ultimate Hi perf shoot out. They tested the DS650, Raptor, Banshee, Cannandole 400, and 400EX. They anylized all of them in different aspects, and in my opinion, judged them fairly.

ill cut to the chase, the Raptor got 1st overall.

I'm gonna have to laugh at the 400ex beating the banshee in the sand! No way! I've ridden both in the sand and the 'shee is king. I got rid of my 400ex because of it's sand sluggishness. What are these guys using for criteria? It aint power, speed, or hillclimbing ability, now is it?

Re: Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

The 400 must have been the winner for taking the most sand in the face, although i would still love to have one!

Re: Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

They said it came down to reliability for desert racing. They said although the 400EX was down on power, it made decent time cuz it didnt have any mechanical brake downs.

Re: Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

How many of us actually Baja 1000 race our quads? Most of us play in the sand, hillclimb, roost tag, sand drag etc. Let's talk real world sand stuff, not "desert" racing.

Re: Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

Welp, i just gave a report of what Dirt Wheels said. I thought it was a good article. Anybody here actually read it?

Im a Banshee owner, and not interested in getting anything else. Not threatened by any of those bikes in the sand dunes either.

Just thought it was interesting. Thought id share it with my fellow riders on this board.

Re: Dirt Wheels Ultimate HIPO shootout

I didnt mean to offend you, Cleartoy, just read it the other day myself. It facinates me how in one review a bike is tested in sand, and in a shootout its tested in uncommon conditions, that's my only point I guess.
