Paddle Tires

Greetings,

I was out at the Grant County ORV park last weekend for the first time on my Raptor and had a balst. However, I am now thinking that I need a set of paddles.

This is what I hope to learn from this fine group:
1) What paddle tires brands should I consider?
2) What is a good and great deal on a set of paddles mounted on aluminum rims?
3) Where is the best mail order outfit to buy from?

Finally, sorry, since most of my riding will be in the dunes should my first aftermarket be a pipe or paddles?

Thanks!

Re: Paddle Tires

As far as what brand...thats tough to answer. Lets talk about what design. Straight paddles are great for straight line drag racing and hill shooting, but dont corner so good, without alot of effort.

Angled paddles slide ok, and get decent traction. Thats what i run.

Im currently running the free Cheng Shin dune sliders that i got with my quad when i bought it. They work great, although they howl when on the gas. I sometimes run my girlfriends Kenda Trakkers, and they are good as well. More bite than mine, and less howl\noise.

I would reccomend 20-10-10 angled paddles for you. Skat Trak is a good name. I ran their paddles on a dirt bike before. The CS and Kenda i run would be fine. Some people like STU Sand Skates.

Re: Paddle Tires

Hello again,

I should also add that I am looking for a paddle that is great for turning and powering up dunes. I am not huge on dragging the thing in a straight line. Thanks!

Please also include expected prices for the paddle brand and wheel.

Thanks a ton!

Re: Paddle Tires

as others suggested, check with rockymountainatv, they will most likely have the cheapest prices. i think their last add in DirtWheels magazine was like $150-$200ish for different brands. for turning i would recommend the angled paddles as cleartoy did. hope this helps.
