Lakota or Mojave?

I'm curently looking for a quad for my inexpierenced younger cousin, he's 13. He wants something with good handling, but he wants something he wont grow out of to fast either. I think the Kawasaki Lakota or Mojave is the right choice. The 2k1 Lakota's have lost 21 lbs., getting rid of the racks and front grill, so they seem more sportier. They've got a larger engine, but the Mojave seems like a better sport quad. Give me a little feed back on this [censored] here guys. Thanx.

Re: Lakota or Mojave?

the censor crap comes from having kids look at this site

I realy dont know much about either quad you mentioned but If I were you I would consider the Yamaha Blaster, its 200 cc 2 stroke, kick start, easy to ride, weighs 325 lbs. and fun for the hole family

Ride hard, Lifes short

Re: Lakota or Mojave?

i have owned both the Lakota and Mohave. The Mohave is much faster and easier to handle.Handles jumps better also.It is basically bullitproof in the engine dept. The Lakota is a great atv and actually would be quicker if it had a manual clutch. The Lakota beats the Mohave in the ride and comfort. It has about 2 inches more wheelbase and this make the ride much smoother.Lakota has electric start also-the Mohave is the pits to start when cold.If I were to buy one of these atvs again I would buy the Mohave for my son or the Lakota for my wife.

Re: Lakota or Mojave?

I dont think a 2stroke is the right thing for him, he'd lock the engine up cause he wouldnt take care of it. I've heard that the 250EX or 300EX are good beginning quads too. But if nobody can beat it, I think I'm going with the Mojave.
THANX.
