Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

Hey, has anybody heard anything about the new fuel injected dual over head cam four wheeler?? I heard that it can waste even the 660R Raptor in a drag! If any of you know anything about this I really appreciate some input!

thanks,
Jeff

Re: Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

Ive heard of the Cannanondole EFI bike. Ive heard how they claim it is faster than the Raptor, but the magazines have not said that yet.

The magazines will test it against other quads in its league when they get their hot little hands on one or two.

Re: Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

I read were the Cannondale factory said that they were faster than the Raptor , and I wouldnt be suprised either, it is fuel injected , big differance , but it also has way to many parts (expensive parts) to break , it has 2 on board computers ,M.A.P. sensor, electric fuel pump, electronic ignition

I bet it hauls , but I can fix my Raptor /Banshee / Blasters / 250 R out in the dunes with just some bailing wire and a screw driver , lets see ya do that with a Cannondale !!!

Re: Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

there are only 2 quads i have heard of that are fuel injected...the Cannondale FX400 and the new VOR500 that is in this months issue of DirtWheels. both have claims of wasteing a raptor, but the Cannondale hasnt been tested yet and the VOR costs almost $25,000 so it better waste a corvette

Re: Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

Here is a post I copied from another forum-TRX400EX yahoo. This quad was at Little Sahara Ok.

I sat on it and we talked about some of the details of the machine. The
seat is firm, much like my ATC250R seat, but much more narrow. The
seat/tank area junction gets narrow where the knees sit, the bike felt
very comfortable for someone my size, like my EX. The clutch pull was
awesome, felt just like my RM250. The throttle was light.

It fired right up with a quick press of the starter button. I stabbed
the throttle a couple of times and you can tell right away that the
engine is serious. It tach's out probably twice as quickly as my EX
does.

The transmission felt good, I really never even noticed it, so it was
every bit as good or better than my EX. The powerband is as close to a
2 stroke MX powerband as you can imagine a 4 stroke being. It doesn't
have the bottom end my EX does, but the hit in the mid is STOUT. In
fact the throttle response is so quick it is sometimes hard to control
in the trails. It felt as though it would easily put a Raptor or
Modified EX in it's dust in a drag.

The handling felt good, the rear shock felt great thru the sand whoops,
can't comment on the fronts, he had put his TCS's off his 250R on there
because he said the Ohlins were really stiff & he wanted to try out the
TCS's with the lowered stance. I felt really comfortable on it pretty
quickly with the exception of the tall bars (when compared to the really
low bars I am used to on my EX). Within no time I was ripping up the
sand trails and left everyone behind.

The chassis had a very rigid/solid feel to it, where my EX seems to have
a lot of torsion. The engine is noisy, it has gear driven cams - sounds
kinda loose and sloppy to the lay-person, but it's cool if you know
what's going on.

Overall I was impressed. The owner reports no trouble so far and is
pretty happy with it. He's still getting used to it and plans on racing
A class MHSC this year and will likely be at Kahoka (not sure if he'll
be riding his R or the Can though). This was bike # 25

Re: Fuel injected 4 wheeler?????

LOL at zilla, my mom just made a point, if it is fuel injected, you can't pop start it, that is no fun, you all know how you are half way up the big hill climb stalled and you just turn it around pull in the clutch and bounce on the seat. I would say take the modern day four wheelers over that four wheeler. by the sounds of it, all i have to do is a put wheels on my modem and i would have a near replica of it .
