suggestions/hints on 4x4 ATVs

I am looking for a 4x4 atv for hunting and some trail riding. I am looking at the Honda FourTrax Rancher 4x4, and the Arctic Cat 400. Does any one have any inputs

If you want a trail rider that you can enjoy whipping around and also use to get you and your game outa the woods I would pick the Yamaha Kodiak 400. It has plenty of power and features that will suit your needs.

i own a log wagon (artic cat) 300 4x4 and would'nt trade it for anything. the 500 is also a hoss, and along with the 300, the auto version has a front diff that, with a linkage mod, can be made to lock, ie real 4 wheel drive.
see ya in the woods

i to would look at the Yamaha Kodiak and maybe even the new Kawasaki Prairie 650. i had a Prairie 300 that was an awesome machine. if you dont want to spend that much cash on the 650, look at the 400 version, they seem nice. i havent been around the honda quads much, some people i ride with ride them but i just havent got to be around the machine itself to form an opinion on them. hope this helps.

HOndas are alright for just putting around. If he wants something he can really play around with he would have to buy a unlocker OR wait till the new rancher comes out with switchable 4x4.

well, for the polarass, my cousin has a 500, and i have a 500 rubicon, (i strongly suggest this), we went riding this afternoon on a sandbar by a river, his will out run mine, on the highway, in the mud, he gets caked. i've had mine a week and have tried to stick it and i can't. he don't even have to try. hehe.

Re: suggestions/hints on 4x4 ATVs

The Honda Rancher 350ES is a good reliable unit but you can get more for your money with the Arctic Cat 400 at the present time, plusher seat, better riding and working suspension, more rack and towing capacity, heavier frame, and liquid cooling. This was hard for me to admit at first as I have always had and love Hondas, but compare and it is a No-Brainer, Yes that is right, I bought the cat. The motor and tranny is made by Suzuki, great drive shafts (centered) excellent hitch, and you can turn the headlights on or off, compare all of these features to the Rancher, Dave.
