2001 Wolverine, Is is right for me

I know this has been probably asked before, but I am new to this site.

I live in WI, and I am a 30 year old male 200 lbs. 5'11" tall. I like to ride in the woods but would also like to be able to
Pull my boat in and out of the water at the lake with it. The boat weights 2000 lbs. and has a tongue weight of
200 lbs. I also like to jump and ride in the mud. I will also use it for plowing the snow in winter. In the order listed
I would have to say that below is the % per catagory.

Boat Pulling 20%
Riding on trails and jumping stuff 60%
Plowing 20%

What would you recommed for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes I like to ride pretty fast. Does this
quad to 60 or should l look for something else.

Thanks in advance.

Chad

Re: 2001 Wolverine, Is is right for me

thats a tough one....
I am not sure I can help much on that one...I am not to good at suggesting utility machines....The wolverine is a good ride....the Rubicon is nice...and the polaris 500 HO is a nice ride....but there are alot of controversy on which is best...I am not sure how I would put those three in the right order....

Re: 2001 Wolverine, Is is right for me

Ask yourself a series of questions:

Do I want to manually shift gears?
Do I want all time 4x4? or do I want more play time?
Do I want heavy hauling ability?
Do I plan to get really airborn?

Then check the specs on your prospective buys.

I Want to manual shift for higher revs. I like to do wheelies. Does the Wol. do wheelies. Can I plow with it. How
heavy is the hitch rated for.

I've never ridden one so I couldn't tell you. Test drive before you buy.
Wol. has 728 lb. towing cap.
&
weighs 485 lb. dry.
It does not have a manual clutch anymore, just a manual tranny.

Re: 2001 Wolverine, Is is right for me

your in a tight spot with this one. Pullin 2000 lbs. with a quad will be hard with all of them especially the wolverine. it is only a 350. for what you want the best suggestion i can make is the rubicon with a detroit un-locker from high lifter. this machine is a 600lbc machine and has a 500cc with a hydro tranny. the tranny has tree shift options
H1 this keeps the quad in good horsepower range for fast ridding.
H2 this keeps the engine in optimal torque rang for hauling
ESP this is an electric manual shift
plus there is a high and low rang lever
H2 + Low range would pull the boat if the quad can support

No the wolverine is not your choice. It will not pull 2,000lbs. I would have to say the Rubi with the unlocker. It will pull and with the unlocker ahve a little fun with it.

Re: 2001 Wolverine, Is is right for me

the wolverine wont pull like you need it to. first off you are going to have a hard time finding one machine to do all that work. i think that the best machine to try to do all there though would be the new Kawasaki Prairie 650. its a little spendy, but i think it will be the best for that job.

I have to agree with CDK on this one , it sounds like the praire 650 twin fits the bill closer than anything else
