I have a 98 King Quad that has recently been giving me a few problems with the electric starter. The KingQuad has to be in nuetral to start. That is not a problem. I can get it into nuetral fine. But for some reason the indicator must not be reacting right to let the starter know that the machine is in nuetral. There is a green light that should come on when I am in nuetral which does not....but on the KQ to get into to reverse you have to be in nuetral and pull a lever back, that has another red light that tells you are in reverse. The red light works fine. The machine goes into to reverse fine. The KQ starts if I use the manual starter rope under the seat. But for some strange reason it is not recognizing "nuetral". Other than having to use the manual start everything else seems to be fine....but this is getting frustrating. I know that I am in nuetral. Why isn't this thing realizing it?? Any sugesstions?
I had a problem similar to that about a month ago. I would kick it down to neutral and the green light wouldn't go on but it would pull start. I had a blown fuse, check your fuses that was my problem. Hope this helps.
Good luck. Today i was out riding and i rolled my KQ. It rolled 2 times in the accident. Lucky i got out. Whoooo. That thing is heavy for a 15 yr old to lift over...but i got it... Didn't even bend the bars to bad.
that sucks dude...i hate crashes...they usually end up costing some cash. glad you got out ok. i rolled a quad 3 times once, and i wasnt forunate enough to get out. luckily i had my helmet on though.
