Re: which is faster on a banshee

not sure on a banshee...mine has a 2 into 1 header pipe with the Trinity Stage IV silencer on it, but my Blaster has the Fatty pipe and a Powercore 2 silencer and it is nasty quicker than my buddies Blaster with a stock exhaust system, but my Blaster has the big bore kit also. the sound that comes out of the Fatty and Powercore is awesome...not really loud but a nice tone to it. hope this helps somewhat.

Re: which is faster on a banshee

I have to say that FMF reports contradictory to what their pipes do. The claim the Fatty to be an all around pipe and an SST to be mid to top.

I run a Fatty, and it is mid to wicked top. I understand that the SST has more low end. Talk to Air Born Banshee. he just got the SSTs.

Re: which is faster on a banshee

I heard SST's dont respond well to ported motors, they work better on stock motors.

Loof, you couldnt prove that to me....I was straight forward AMAZED when I took it out for the quick jaunt...
my nephew who owns a banshee was shocked....and my other nephew who used to own one thought it was unreal....

and I for one am just amazed....front end was up high in 5th gear...just at the flick of the throttle...

Re: which is faster on a banshee

I' ve heard that the FMF sst ' s don'' t work that great on motors with porting because these pipes send exhaust flow back into the combustion chamer , and with porting you want get the flow out as fast as possible. Does anyone know if this is true? I think the Toomey's are the best for the sand because they offer more top end while still being pretty good on the bottom and in the mid . Has anyone seen the DMC's run on a bike ? How do the DMC' s compare the Toomey's ?

I read on the ALBA site that the SST pipes are good for stock engines because they produce more back pressure. But for modified motors the fattys would perform better.

didnt say i believed it...just saw it and thought i would pass it on..but here is a counter argument too.

I rode with people that have had both the fatty's and the SST's on their modded motors and their banshees ran faster with the SST's on. They spent a day switching back and forth between the 2 pipes.

I dunno maybe when they say ported they are talkin about the full out race ported bikes.
