Re: jetting

do ya run in real wet areas?? if u dont...then I would recommend yankin the lid instead of drillin holes....

as far as jetting...figure out what they recommend for jetting and then go above that whatever you are over stock now...

Re: jetting

well i am not sure how wet is wet enough to lose the lid...there are a few water crossings in the spring that are pretty wet and muddy and there are some big puddles around after a good rain..how easily does water get in the airbox? how much water does it take to soak a filter? the filter spray should make it pretty water proof right? i know i will get a bunch of power tossing the lid i just am not sure how much water is enough to worry about..

about the jetting recomendations...there are none...so i ask here..i e mailed pro circuit a week ago and havnt gotten a response yet...

Re: jetting

well I run here in minnesota and wisconsin...and I run my banshee without a lid....I make dammmnn sure the filter is oiled and some people run a sock on it too...but I have not had a problem with water coming in...

as far as jetting...uhhhh without them giving a base to run on that will make it a bit more tricky...talk to cleartoy on that one...

Re: jetting

well are there like puddles that you splash though at hight speeds...because that is my main worry, hitting a puddle and splashing a bunch of water into my box...hmm maybe if i run no lid and put a sheet of foam over the top of the box and oil that for added protection...or maybe it would be useless...

i know there are piped warrior people here...whay did you guys jet at???

Re: jetting

I just had a lesson on jetting with my Raptor so maybe I can help , a 2 stroke has around 2 inches of vacuum so you can jump up 4 or 5 sizes and get away with it even if its a little rich its ok , a 4 stroke has around 20 inches of vacuum so you dont want to go up more than one size at a time , as you can get TO rich in a hurry

Re: jetting

warrior...the best advice...is to pull the carb...look what is in there and then up from there...dont guess...it isnt worth it...

as far as flying through a puddle..I do it all the time....and I have not had any problems...

Re: jetting

ok i found this nifty jetting chart on FMFs web site..it says that i should put a 155/165 (but which one ahhh!!) main (up from a 145) and a 45 pilot (up from a 42.5) for a piped warrior with no airbox lid...so thats probably what im going to try..hopefully it will be right the first time dont want to take carb apart more than i have too!!!!

Re: jetting

This is optimal:

Go one size up from stock main. When you take it out, it will be stamped with the size. Go "one" size up.

Take the needle up "one" position. Leave the pilot jet stock.

Drill "two" 1" holes toward the back of your air box lid and insert the White Bros. 1" foam prefilter inserts.

This will give you optimum breathing if you have done the Pro-Design air filter conversion. I run the Big-Gun, and this setup makes mine breathe fire without any missing or sputtering regardless of speed or rpm. Also, with this setup you will not have to worry about mud puddles or creek crossings. Pulling the lid is not the way to go, IMHO. Good Luck!
