Blaster Help

A couple of days ago i was riding my blaster around the yard and i heard a loud grinding noise from the engine and it shut off. It wouldnt start for the rest of the day. When me and my dad looked at it the next day it started up no problem. We took off the head to look at the piston for any damage but there was none. We also looked at the carb. and there wasnt any damage. When you hit the throttle it doesnt get up and go like it used too and at top end it slows down. What could the problem be?

Re: Blaster Help

what it sounds like to me is you need to rebuild the top end. the reason it doesn't get up and go is because it has lost compression. The grinding sound might have been some kind of foriegn matter in the cylinder that grinded a scratch in the Cylinder wall, thus causing the lost compression. Well I hope i helped and good luck.

Happy Trails to everyone.

Re: Blaster Help

There was no scratches in the cylinder wall, and the rings were ok.

Re: Blaster Help

u can't always see a problem. The Cylinder uses such graduated scales of Judgement the human eye can't always see. If you want to be sure, go and have a Compression test done on your motor.
