Yahmaha vs. Suzuki...HELP!!

Am able to purchase a 3 month old 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 2W for 3.9K from a private party. Then I stopped by the local cycle shop. They carry Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki. The sales manager, not knowing of my inpending purchase, told me Suzuki was by far and away the best quad and gave some very good reasons. Yet, please bear in mind, it's all greek to me. Yet, that a Suzuki is less money, oil cooled vs. air cooled, protective plate underneath, odometer, pull cord on top vs. side, etc. all made for a compelling case to change my mind and buy a Suzuki. Should I?...if so, why so...if not, why not? Thanks...

Re: Yahmaha vs. Suzuki...HELP!!

I live on a dairy and we have a 2000 big bear for work and its a fricken tank. This thing has never been stopped, I pull a welder and trailer that weighs around 700 pounds and I have had to go through mud and another worse and stinkier barier and nothing has stopped it yet. I love suzukis and wish to see another sports quad, but til then I would say the Yamaha is the way to go.

Re: Yahmaha vs. Suzuki...HELP!!

I bought a Grizz based on the record of the 4 year old Big Bear at the ski area where I volunteer. They positively POUND the Yamaha year round with negligible maintenance. We think it has over 15,000 miles on the untouched engine - only oil changes. If my Grizz holds up half as well, I will be happy. I looked at a 500 Suzuki and did not like the full time 4WD (handling). My Grizz can tow a 3,000 trailer around and push start (in gear!) 1,400# (w/driver) sprint cars - awesome!.
