I'm not entirely familiar with the axle-nut system on a Banshee, but on my 250R, there is a nut that tightens the axle against the bearings in the hub, and a locknut. I usually just tighten the locknut until the axle starts to bind just a little bit. Just enough so that the axle doesn't spin as freely as it did when the nut was loose (I hope this is making sense), I then tighten the locknut, which snugs it up just a little bit more. I've had good success with this method.
