Re: Kawasaki Mojave

Hey man,
I dont have one personally, but a friend of mine has had a '98 or '99 Mojave for the last 6 months. Anyway, thank goodness its under warranty. First of all the rims are seriously weak, they dent from the lightest hit. Also when my friend first got his it had always been hard to kick over (I weight 165 lbs and I could stand on the kick starter and it wouldn't budge!) After a while the kickstarter broke (I'm not sure what happened but it was something inside). So off the dealer it went. Once the dealer got it appart they made my friend purchase a new piston and rings! They also tried to make him pay for a new thermostat because the one that was in there was bent. Also once they got it together the dealer didn't put it back together right and it leaked antifreeze into the oil. After about 2 months he got it back but unfortunately he got caught riding on the street during a snowstorm so his parents locked it in a large box! Oh and just so you know about 3 months of the time he's owned it he had a broken leg due to an accident he had on the quad a month after he had got it. I've had less trouble with my '95 Blaster and I've owned it for about 3 years already. Others might have had better luck, just thought I'd share.

Re: Kawasaki Mojave

I have an 88 Mojave that i bought about 3 months ago. I got it cheap so it needed some help (and still does). Besides being old and kind of worn out, it is good. I have a couple of pictures of it on my web page http://www.homestead.com/fishyoo7/atv2.html I haven't heard much bad stuff about them. Dirt Wheels magazine did and article on the 2000 mojave in their October 1999 issue. I like mine. It will keep up with a warrior, maybe even beat stock ones with a little help. If you are a bigger person though (tall), ride one around first and see if you can fit in it well, it is a small machine. Hope i was of some help.

Re: Kawasaki Mojave

i run 87 oct. gas thru my 88. i ran premium before and didn't make a differenc. it runs just fine on regular. I love it though, that thing flies. It is great running thru tight trails.
