Arctic Cat 300 4x4 problems

I bought a new ArcticCat 300 4x4 in December. Three weeks later at 200 miles the drive shaft ripped out of the frame. Arctic Cat replaced the frame and I got it back three weeks later. I want to know if anyone has had this problem before? Also My right headlight is dim when in high or low beam. Does anyone know what might cause this. This is a new machine with 400 miles on it and I am having some problems that I wouldn't expect to have with something new. I am looking for any information I can find out, or who else has problems with theirs. I researched the quad before I bought it and thought I was buying the best for the features.

Re: Arctic Cat 300 4x4 problems

I have also recently purchased an Arctic Cat 300 4x4. The dealer was aware of the drive shaft problem. Apparently Arctic Cat has instructed the dealers to check the bolts on the drive shaft before delivery. My dealer put "lock tite" on the bolts to avoid this problem. I can't help with the headlight problem.

Re: Arctic Cat 300 4x4 problems

coming from a mechanical background, the dim light is most likely due to a bad ground circut to the light itsef. check the ground wire where it attaches to the frame.

Re: Arctic Cat 300 4x4 problems

I had a '99 Arctic Cat 4x4. The bolts fell out the front driveshaft too. The tranny locked between high and low range and it always felt like it had slack in it. I got tired of it so I traded it for a Honda Foreman 450. Good luck!! you'll need it.
