SHIFTER STILL STUCK!

I have a 1983 Honda ATC, ok there is a spring that brings the shifter back to the middle...how do I get to IT>? And on the left side of the engine right behind the head at the bottom and kinda by the flywheel there is a rubber know thing and under that there is a a bolt that I took out and there is a little plastic thing that depresses and then comes back up...WHAT IS IT!!??!! Do the atcs have tranny fluid???

Re: SHIFTER STILL STUCK!

According to my factory 200X manual, you will have to split the case halves to get to the spring which is on the back side of the shaft.Sorry bummer job splitting cases.Would not recommened doing without manual. If you need further contact [email protected]

Re: SHIFTER STILL STUCK!

it sounds to me like you should gather all the parts and bring what you have to a mechanic, if you dont know if atc's have tranny oil you should probably not be taking one apart.

Re: SHIFTER STILL STUCK!

Actually I am almost finished putting in spring. And no I do know about them I was just wondering. All you have to do it take off the kickstarter then all the bolts that hold the right side of the enigne case then take off the oil rotor and the clutch basket and then you are there. So....I do know something.
