Exclamation New Honda TRX700xx

Our reporter just got back from first ride, and he's impressed! Consensus was that it didn't "feel" like it had a full 700cc, but Honda is usually conservative with their motors. Should be rockin' with some performance mods.

What's the "official" about it?

"With the introduction of the all-new 2008 TRX700XX, Honda enters the large-displacement Sport ATV market at the peak of the high-performance curve and accelerates into the red zone where no one can follow. Its electric-start, fuel-injected 686cc four-stroke engine traces its heritage to the Baja-dominating XR650R and delivers class-leading power. Just as significant, the drivetrain and suspension of the TRX700XX are state-of-the-art—and then some. Specifically, Honda has engineered a brilliant centered chain drive system that permits the use of fully Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) with more advantages than traditional IRS designs."

First ride impressions, photos and video to come on ORC in a week or so!

Ricky should have report up on ORC by the end of this week, including a short video clip. Interesting - this quad is so new, even the Honda Marketing guy wouldn't go on camera and make specific statements about it. Kinda funny.

Okay ORC ATV Answer Man - you've ridden both of these. What do you think?

Honda TRX700XX

Hey Pop,
Well i am guessing that your pop may be looking for something comfortable and great handling right? Or is he a rip roaring daddy that gets out on the trail to teach it a lesson?
Both bikes are great machines and surely worth a look but if it were me i'd lean towards the Honda. The new IRS and mild to wild power have to be great for an all around quad. The Raptor is a man eater if you know what i mean but to be tame enough for just general trail riding is debateable.
Please understand that its just merely my opinion but the TRX700XX has all the features to please the wide open spirit with enough leash to get some comfortable trail riding in as well.
