2004 foreman es 4x4 knocking

toady i was riding my 04 450 foreman down the road when i heard something start sounding different, almost like the exhaust had come unbolted or something. I got back to the house and pulled up and let it return to an idle and it sounded like something was knocking in the bottom part of the case (pretty loud) so i immediately switched it off. The guy who i bought it from had a big bore cylinder and all on it and before he sold it he replaced it with new top end. Has anyone had similar problems or heard of similar problems or have any comments. thanks

Re: 2004 foreman es 4x4 knocking

Describe the sound.

Some machines hae a metal exhaust cover that deflects the heat from certain areas. Usually found at the first turn of the heaqd pipe. If the sound is a little "tinny" or "ratting" it may be that.

Coming from the bottom of the motor might not be good. Most Honda's are better off left alone. If it was an actual big bore kit, that would be one thing, but if the person had engine problems and just fixed the top end it may have needed lower end work also.

Usually, you wouldn't see that until a lot of miles or a LOT of hard riding.

How many miles on the machine? Any mods, ETC. ?
