Throttle\'s Wide Open

Got the Quadrunner running but it's running wide open. Throttle cable seems fine but the carb adjustments don't work one way or another. Any suggestions?

Re: Throttle\'s Wide Open

Ahh...check the slide in the carb. Did you have the carb apart for any reason? Can't remember on the quadrunner, but some carbs have a round slide, which has a "key", but can be put in backwards. The key then prevents the slide from going down all the way, which effectively makes it run wide open. Make sure the needle is installed properly (it should have just a LITTLE up and down play, but not much). And check the spring over the slide. If you still don't get anywhere, check for vacuum leaks around the boot, etc. Let us know.
