New on Board-Kawasaki Recall

Just bought a Kawasaki KVF360-A1 Prarie. I found out its been recalled for ball joint replacment. I have called about six dealers and all say it will take months to get parts. Is there any charge for this service and does anyone have a short cut i can use to get the job done. Thanks all for any help. Ken

Re: New on Board-Kawasaki Recall

when the factory recalls on a machine, they do all the labor and you get the parts for free. you pay absolutly nothing. i would just get your name on a waiting list and have it done right, for free. you could do it yourself but more than likely youll have a hard time getting the parts from the dealer considering its a safety issue. i had a recall on my yz250 awhile back. the throttle tube was defected and it would cause throttle to stick wide open and all the fix was, was the little circular spinner deal in the throttle tube assembly. i didnt have a yamaha dealer in my town so i had to mail them the whole throttle assembly just to have them put in a new throttle circular thingy. there wasnt a way around it. it was all free so i wasnt complaining. good luck

Re: New on Board-Kawasaki Recall

Called a few dealers and put my name on the list. Was told it could take some time. They will get the parts as soon as they get them from Kawasaki. I will still use the machine but at low speed and no heavy impact on the front end. Thanks for the reply.
