I have been wondering what to get a 04 raptor 660 or a banshee. ive ridden quads before but not to seriously. Im 16 and i want something fun and i know the raptor is fun as so is the banshee. I live out in the country of florida where theirs a descent amount of sand and plenty of space. theirs also alot of brush and feilds and i want some experienced riders to tell me the truth on what they would recommend

damn I havent been here in a while but I would say go for the banshee, being as though your 16, I am guessing your average weight, and it seems you have a nice place to ride, I say if ya got the sand get the banshee. Plenty of sand and open land is a banshee's owners dream, a nice choice, a fast 2 stroke you will be able to ride for years to come and have a lot of fun on. Aftermarkets parts a sinch to find and banshees are great to modify, good luck with the purchase, but I would still test ride both machines, see which size and type (4 stroke vs 2 stroke) you like.

If you are intent on the Yamaha brand, the YFZ is the best all around bike IMO........ Thats from the bikes that you have mentioned and what it looks like you want to do with it..

Re: what to get raptor 660 or banshee

i have a nearly stock 96 banshee, it's been bored before when it was rebuilt, and it's got a full fmf gold series exhaust and i ate up a 2002 raptor that had a decent white bro's exhaust...as soon as i hit third he couldn't hang at all, and you say an underpowered two stroke? LOL, gimme a break...raptors...BLAH get a banshee, raptors are fun for torque, but they can't hang when i hit the gas...if you have wide open land hit the banshee up and get a good exhaust for it and some boyseen reeds, you'll be set

I have a 400EX, but in your case, I have ridden both atv's and I would say you should go with the Banshee. Good top end and it is a nice atv if modified to a better quality. If you want more power,I would have to go with the raptor because the Banshee is practically just speed. The way you sound you want speed so I would go with the 2 stroke Banshee because sand is the Banshee's best thing to ride in. Be aware of the loudness though!

i kind of have to correct him...he said a raptor has more power, banshee has more speed...raptor is alot of torque, banshee is mainly high hp, believe me, you still have plenty of(more than you need) power, just not if your puttin around, but who does that nehow?? Re: what to get raptor 660 or banshee

I personaly am trying to decied between a used raptor 660 and a Banshee. My friend has a stock 2001 Banshee and I have ridden it alot and it is very fast but where I ride there isn't normaly tonnes of room so I think I'm going with the raptor and add a few modifications so I can beat my other friend on his warrior.

Re: what to get raptor 660 or banshee

I have a 2004 Blue Raptor 660 with 12 hours at the most on it. My wife and I just had our first child and I don't have the time to ride plus could use the money. It is brand new and never ridden hard (no jumping, wheelies, racing, etc.) just trail riding. It has 1 minor scratch on the front bumper where it rubbed the toolbox in the back of my truck. All stock except skid plate package; PRM 3/16" A-Arm guards and full frame guard, PRM 1/4" swing arm guard. I'm asking $5200 o.b.o. I have been trying to sell since Feb. with no luck and I must sell. Please make an offer, this thing is brand new! Email me for more info.
