Blaster, Oil squirting question

Fellas, need some info, my neighbor has a Yamaha blaster, they're two stroke, but it has a reservoir for the 2 cycle oil, not pre mix (I'm sure you guys already know all of that). Today, it started spitting two cycle oil out of a small hose from the front of the quad. It looks like the hose comes from the engine/tranny area, but we were out in the woods so I didn't trace it. Was wondering if anyone knew what the deal with that is. Also wanted to know if it's possible/advisable to not use the reservoir and just run premix instead? Thanks

Re: Blaster, Oil squirting question

that hose could be the vent for the tranny, oil shouldnt spurt out of that. crank seal maybe? and it is possible to get rid of the oil injection. someone makes a kit. i would do it that way you know you are getting oil and dont have to worry about the pump going and nuking your engijne

Re: Blaster, Oil squirting question

98, thanks. I think the hose is a breather hose, and the engine may have had too much oil in it, not sure on that yet.
