Heading to your ATV world

Ive been wheeling for a long time, but I think its time to go quad.Im really not into speed much, but I do want to look into 4x4 quads built to take you in the rough,so reliability is definitely key.I dont want to spend my kids' college fund either,so I was wanting to ask about a 350 or 400.Im about 200 lbs so would this be big enough and any brands I should stay away from?
Thanks much!

Re: Heading to your ATV world

I dont think youll be happy with a 350 or 400. I have a buddy who has a polaris sportsman 500 4X4 and its really nice. I like the yamaha grizzly 660 4X4 myself. But i realy think you should go with at least a 500 in a 4X4. The 4X4 quads are heavyier than the sport quads and have more drive train to turn so a 500 in a 4X4 isnt realy a huge power house compared to a 500 sport Quad.

A buddy of mine bought the suzuki eiger and loves it. 400cc 4x4 with the auto clutch 5 sd. trans. The bike has good power a very plush ride and should be able to be bought for around 5000.00. He found a really good deal on his 6 months ago for 4650.00.

Re: Heading to your ATV world

for some good reliability I would look at honda or yamaha, the yamaha Wolverine is a 350 always in 4x4 beast for a 350, get anywhere with that thing, other wise, check your local paper for a decent deal on a used honda ricon, rancher or yamaha grizzly, kodiak, or wolverine, good luck
