i've only read about it and watched but don't know anybody with it. I've read that on big air the rear suspension will bottom out.

Re: What is everyone\'c opinion on the 400EX??

The 400EX is a great bike. Sadly Project Big Red doesn't compare to some of the newer hi-performance atv's.
Earlier I wouldn't have traded it for anything! Now we've got out the Z/KFX, the V-Force, and of course the new YFZ450. Now that I'm more serious into racing I need something that will give me that little edge.

If you aren't too serious about racing the 400ex is a great bike. Even if you are going to do some races, but just for fun its the right bike. A 400ex takes much work to get it to racing level, compared to the new race ready bikes. There are still many people out winning races on 400ex's, but takes a lot of work!

Ok, so I guess my opinion is I love the 400ex, but it's just kinda out dated.

If your buying new I would wait till September after the dealer show. Sounds like you might not even have to wait that long. You will not want a 400ex after you see the new Honda!

Re: What is everyone\'c opinion on the 400EX??

the 400ex is always a good choice for almost everyone, still the best reliable bike, being out for many years, and being a honda (shut up), everyone knows it will last, great power, and nice looks still a fun machine, yes there is bigger and better things out but still is one of the best, being the easiest bike to put aftermarket parts on

a tad out dated with its air cooling but one bad machine

Re: What is everyone\'c opinion on the 400EX??

would you be willing to sell the axle possible with the carrier, you might be better off selling that stuff for cash and exchange for stock stuff, to get more money that is, tell me if your intrested in getting the axle and carrier off your hands, for my axle and carrier with cash...
is the axle std length or +2+4 or something
