help with a kick start

I have always been using electric start but now I have moved to a kick start, i sold my bike and bout a friends although he’s out of town so he doesn’t know I have it. Well its at my house and i was wondering how you start it, step by step procedure because I’m not sure what lever you hold down or if both on the left handle bar. Can anyone help ?

Re: help with a kick start

I am guessing there is a decompression lever?

becasue kick is very simple, unless it has the decompression, now....
1. pull in the little lever above your down on the kick starter faily light, until it stops....
2. once you have the kick starter about 1/2 way down, let the lever go, and kick the bike which ever way the lever goes....
3. give gas and go
4. if it doesnt start either repeat, or when kicking only let the lever snap about 1/2 the way back up so you dont need to pull the lever in (step 1)

**I have used these a few times, but not 100%, anyone else feel free to fill me in or correct me

if your saying WTF? and there is no lever above your clutch (left side) then there is no decompression lever, just pull in the clutch and kick away until the bike starts
