well, I noticed that to, but for a guy that puts his R in his living room, and said it wasnt started since 1989, I doubt he would ever want someone riding it...what better way to make sure someone doesnt by taking off the chain [img]images/graemlins/40BEER.gif[/img]

couldnt the bearings in the engine like sease up from sitting w/o oil for a while? woldnt seals go bad if the engine isnt run in a while?

This guy is a nut, and yes your right, but anyone would know to drain everything....thats what most of my friends do with there bikes in the winter....drain oil and gas

lol tell your friends not to drain the oil, the gas is good but draining the oil is useless. just change it b4 u put it away and you are good to go come spring.

actually in CT the winter sucks, they dont have garages...so it site out in there barns...so they do need to drain the oil, when in cold temps, other wise it can get very thick, or you might have to start yopur bike up every once in a while
