Buying new bike

I want a new bike but want to go fast and still be able to climb hills. I was thinking about spending 3800 or less. I would like to get something 96 or better. I was looking at banshee's, 400-300ex, and warriors, blasters. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Buying new bike

I just bought a 2001 400ex. It seems to do everything very well. I do lots of hill climbing and sand riding and it works good for that type of stuff. I paid $3850 for it and it had about $750 worth of extra's on it. I haven't ridden anything else much to compare with it - but it seems to be an excellent machine so far!

Re: Buying new bike

how is the bike in the speed department, do you think it would keep up with banshee, and would it be faster than a blaster. thank you for the post

Re: Buying new bike

faster than a blaster, slower than a banshee, you could probably find a banshee for about 3500 if you looked hard, it depends on if you want to constintly be on a rocket, or would like to take it slow and put around a little bit, if you're gonna wanna be taking it slow some of the time the ex would be nice, if your out for a thrill ride everytime you ride the banshee would be the obvious choice...

Re: Buying new bike

I picked up my warrior for 3300.00 and it has about 2000.00 worth of extras, I like the 4 strokes as opposed the the 2 strokes.

Re: Buying new bike

I would go with a 400ex. The new ones are just $5699 and a used one a 99 i saw for 3900. It you go faster than a blaster you might be able to keep up with a banshee with alot of aftermarket things and some work.

Re: Buying new bike

dude get a banshee...if you want intense power and never want to go slow it is the way to go...its powerband and roost factor are incredible!! but if you are more into slower non wide open riding a 4 stroke machine might be better..but why would you want to do that?

Re: Buying new bike

or you could get a raptor, and get the two stroke type thrill with the low end grunt of a four stroke.

Re: Buying new bike

You won't find a Raptor for $3800. If you shop around and watch closley you should be able to pickup a 1999 400EX for $3800
