400EX gearing change?...

....After 20 years on two wheelers (don't hate me). I bought a couple quads for the wife and I. I went with the 400EX's cause all the publications said it handled the best. They were right. They also said that it was down on power. They were right again... With dirbikes it was common for me to go up 1 to 2 teeth in the rear to gain low end grunt. I plan to do a pipe later but for now can I do the same with my 400EX? Or maybe lose 1 tooth up front?
thanks,
SPODE.

Re: 400EX gearing change?...

i would leave the 15 tooth in the front if u r running stock size tires there really is no need to change the gearing. the only reason i went to a 14 tooth in the front was because i went to a 22" tire in the rear and wanted my low end back. i would invest in a pipe and other work.

security is mostly a superstition. it does not exist in nature. life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all
