Old question asked again!

Hello to all and thanks for answering this for me,
About to buy a ATV 4x4 so which one is best?
I'm 6'4', about 300lbs, been riding bikes from the dirt to road for 35 years. Will be dragging lumber, hauling stone, mud running, stump jumping, trail riding, hunting and about anything else you could use an ATV for. Looking to spend $4500.00 on a used one.(or trade older H-D for atv + cash)

Re: Old question asked again!

there are three rides that come to mind
1- Yamaha Grizzly 660
2- Kawasaki Praire 650
3 Polairis sporstman 700

of all three the Yamaha has the best erganomics, and the lowest gearing , so it is the most comfortable, and has the most pulling power
A friend of mine has one and for a 4x4 I was very impressed with the power and handeling
Iv'e also read the Kaw is a pretty sweet machine but Iv'e never ridden one
the Polaris is the largest of all but the doggiest, I recommend stay away from that one
You can see a shoot out on all these quads in the Jan. 2002 edition of Dirtwheels

Re: Old question asked again!

Not even close. Oldguy, check out your local shops to see what they have used. There are no 4x4 quads over 350cc for less than 5K new. I've seen some big bears 2yrs old for under 4K around Tulsa. Also, the local Polaris dealer usually has Sportsman 400-500 1 & 2 yr. olds for about 4500. (Of course all you need is a Kasea 150)

Re: Old question asked again!

I ride quite often with a guy who's about 6'6" & well over 400lb. His Honda 450es carries him around without a prob. & he loves riding it.
I'm 6'& shy of 200lb and also ride a 450es. He can go wherever I go, and has fun doing it!
