I built a stroker 4.5 this spring useing 258 crank and rods.
mine was a little different than your though because i have the OBDII system for EFI and you have the old RENIX system. I do know that folks built RENIX strokers ith good results.

as far as performance, I built mine for straight torque and did i get it.. the engine runs well under 500 rpm and it never stalls offroad. my jeep gets 17mpg in town on 37" tires and will go as fast as i dare on the highway.\
it has noticeably more power than my wifes 2000 4.0 tj, but i dont have the numbers
